Self-Esteem & Inner Child Work
I focus on helping Asian Americans live a better life by discovering their life purpose/goals, developing a career path, and being more positive and assertive. During therapy, you will navigate negative feelings (self-criticism, guilt, shame), learn how to set healthy boundaries, and start to feel confident and positive about yourself.
My areas of expertise include low self-esteem, anxiety, trauma-related issues, relationship challenges (insecurity, codependence, attachment issues), and Family of Origin (FOO) issues. I assist my clients in exploring their true identities, embracing themselves, understanding others, making sense of the consequences, and ultimately leading a more fulfilling life. In particular, I have extensive clinical experience working with individuals who have been raised or treated by toxic (controlling, manipulative, narcissistic) parents or partners.
I provide a non-judgmental and supportive space where clients can freely discuss their experiences, thoughts, and emotions. Additionally, I am fluent in Korean, which happens to be my first language.
I tend to work well with clients who are interested in learning new things, including psychology and mindfulness; clients who enjoy connection, honesty, and humor; clients who are into music and arts and who lean towards the sensitive, intuitive, and spiritual side; clients who were raised by controlling parent(s) in a competitive environment; clients who have trauma-related issues; bilingual/bicultural clients who are experiencing an identity crisis; college students or young professionals who are currently feeling stuck and trying to figure out "what I want" and "who I am."; parents/ couples who want to improve their parenting/partnership by healing their own emotional wounds; mothers who want to regain a sense of self and confidence.
